Contact Your Elected Officials

There are a number of ways you can help us secure full funding for Iowa's Water & Land Legacy through the Natural Resources & Outdoor Recreation Trust Fund. We have prepared simple talking points that you can use when talking to elected officials, writing letters or talking to local friends/family/co-workers.  You can also find those materials here.

 1. Attend a Local Legislative Forum - Below, you will find a listing of legislative forums being held across the state. We are currently collecting information on forums for all members of the Iowa Legislature. If you know of additional events, please email marybeth@groundswellpublicstrategies.com.

2.  Make a Personal Phone Call - Legislators love to hear from their constituents.  Find your legislator here and ask them to support fully funding the Natural Resources & Outdoor Recreation Trust Fund.

3.  Send a Personalized Letter - We are asking supporters to send a letter to their legislator and Governor Branstad.  If you need to find your legislator you can do so on the legislative website.  We have created a sample letter that you can mail or email to your elected officials.  Help us!

4.  Write a Letter to the Editor - You can use our simple letter samples as the basis for a letter to the editor to publish in your local newspaper!
